Don't use multiple spaces, tabs or paragraph returns in your copy.
Runs of multiple spaces, tabs or paragraph returns produce inflexible formatting and can cause alignment and text flow problems. Most text editors and page layout programs provide better means of creating the same formatting. For instance:
- Instead of double-spacing paragraphs, adjust your paragraph spacing settings. A full line between paragraphs is usually excessive, and will distort your top margin if text reflow causes it to fall at the top of a page.
